Voices of Change 2021
About Voices of Change
From December 2020 to spring 2021, we offer a cavalcade of national and international stars! There will be several specially produced concerts, recorded live both in Stockholm and in other places in the world.
First up were two sparkling concerts! Partly the Syrian world star Lena Chamamyan, considered one of the foremost singers of her generation.
Tones of oriental jazz permeate her style, creating a mix of traditional Arabic, Armenian and Western music.
Then we had the band Hawa Dafi, from Majdal Shams in the northern parts of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. who play Arabic fusion influenced by rock, reggae, ska and blues.
From June 3, 2021, Voices of Change offers new concerts! Everything from Persian rock musicals with a special constellation of the Iranian band Kiosk, Persian opera to Kurdish and Baluchi music, a grand orchestra and shining female singers such as Negar Zarassi and Josette Bushell-Mingo. Also Parvaz Dance Ensemble and many more artists to be announced!
The annual initiative Voices of Change is a free zone for artists who cannot express themselves freely in their home countries due to gender identity, opinion or sexual orientation. In the work for human rights, art is a basis for debate and discussion. Therefore, Riksteatern is proud to highlight these artists, who through their artistry change and create platforms for a more open and multifaceted world.
